Together with a ranger, today you will travel in an off-road vehicle through the vast landscape, on the trail of the rare desert elephant, whose sighting will undoubtedly be a highlight of your trip.

"Doro Nawas" rests on the edge of the dry Aba Huab River and overlooks ancient plains with magnificent views of rugged Damaraland. You will also visit the seal colony and in the afternoon you will arrive at Shipwreck Lodge.

Along the river… Spend your day exploring the Hoarusib River. Visit the clay castles, an impressive geological formation. You may even see the elusive desert-adapted elephants, brown hyenas and lions.

All chalets have private bathrooms and are equipped with a safe and a wood stove. Each cabin has its own terrace from which to enjoy the tranquil landscape. In the late afternoon, you will embark on an afternoon sundowner nature drive in the Onguma Reserve, where the experienced rangers will explain the many intricacies of the bush. The reserve boasts over 30 different species of wildlife. Plains game moves freely in the reserve, and predators, while not always easy to spot, are common residents of the region. Lions and cheetahs are frequently seen and often heard.
There is a healthy population of black rhino and leopard, and hyenas are also often seen and heard. All of this can be spotted during the sundowner drives.

Day 11: Game drive in Etosha National Park

Early in the morning you will go on a game drive into Etosha National Park, accompanied by experienced rangers who share their valuable knowledge of the area and its inhabitants.
